Game Play and Clan Attitude

IN LEGACY RISING CLASH OF CLANS IS A GAME...though a seriously fun and engaging one, realize at the end of the day, this is not your job, nor is it a reason to become angry or frustrated with yourself or your fellow clanmates!! I figure I would rather have just a few of us that are active, friendly and have a great attitude, than 50 professional attack lurkers that treat the game as a drudgery that they HAVE to do; approaching the GAME as they do their day job.

Base , Troops and Building

  • Engineering and Rushing

    • Balance of Defense to offense important

    • Bases with very low troops or low defense, usually more than a couple of levels below maximum possible for the player's most recent TH level, are the classical definition of "RUSHED"; however, bases with very high offense, max heroes, and low defense, "Engineering bases" are every bit as rushed.

    • More importantly, engineered bases are actually discouraged by Super Cell itself, and with the new requirements to build full defenses before moving up to the next TH level, the game is not designed to the Engineering approach. Oddly enough, I have found most engineering players don't identify with the moniker; they believe they are building smart in the game...often times ignoring key defense that HELPS HUGE in clan wars. Remember, you bases ability to defend in a Clan War is every bit as important as your ability to attack. Most engineers find their bases are ALWAYS the first to get 3 starred, thus making a cost-benefit ratio that then forces them to have to achieve 6 perfect stars to be a useful member of the war party (statistically speaking).

    • Engineered bases with offense to defense ratio heavily favoring offense are not required, nor encouraged, but will be accepted as long as player realizes we are all here to have fun and not try to break the war search.

    • Engineering is rushing and while LR will take players that are offense heavy, or defense heavy, please don't expect the max troop/hero, low defense approach to be encouraged (this is one of the reasons our sister clan is struggling).

    • While I do believe that rushed bases with low troops can be poor attackers that fail to understand the full use of troops and common strategy, it is more commonly my experience that rushed "Engineered" accounts with max troops and low defense are poor attackers, looking for a quick win and lacking the competitive spirit LR is looking for. These players also commonly see their bases get snockered in war, thus making the very approach to engineering one that often requires perfect attacks to work in the first place...lol

      • A perfect example of this occurred recently during a CWL war I participated in:

        • I watched a number of people with full max troops and max (or close to max) heroes sit toward the bottom of the war ranking, due to omitting key pieces of defense--in order to lower war weight (Xbows, Infernos, Eagles, etc...)but near refuse to hit upper bases that were at their TH level. While this odd weight cowering was going on, players with average troops for their TH level were required to hit upper bases, merely because they had built proper amounts of Xbows, Burners and Eagles as per their TH level. Nothing is more frustrating than having a player's offensive ability, or strength, being confused with their defensive base weight.

    • Legacy Rising does however encourage players to get their defenses and offenses up as fully as they can before moving up to the next town hall level; any sort of rushing can, and eventually will, create difficulty in the balance of the game for any and all players.

    • Legacy also encourages players that are not quite up to snuff on their current TH build, maybe rushing a bit along the way, to join and build according to good game play practices.

Leadership

It is all too common in the current COC universe to find yourself in a clan where you wonder what it is that the leadership actually does...that is a failure that rests squarely on the shoulders of that clan's leadership. If this lack of leadership has happened to you in the past, I am sure you are as frustrated with it as the leadership of Legacy Rising. Leaders are players that are interested in doing more than merely playing the game for their own benefit; it is a giving position, not a power position.

Expect your leaders to:

  • Try to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of their players game play

    • This requires at times instructing players as to how to attack, new attack strategies, and often where to find good attack strategies

    • This also requires learning from your players strategies and ideas:

      • building an understanding of your players' repertoire of skills for use in war balance

      • Learning new approaches to the game so that you may both improve your own game, and pass on these newly acquired skills to other players.

  • Increase transparency and communication in the game for leaders and player alike

  • Lead by example

    • High donations

    • Maximum participation in Clan Games

    • War attacks above average for your TH lvl

    • Regularly available in chat

    • Watching war attacks and encouraging success and strategy

  • Encourage an environment of winning and success

War

War assignments

  • Given by leadership and the eldership after deliberating with players and assessing the needs and logic of the current war situation.

    • Assignments are based upon offense, not defensive ranking...hence your place in the war rank may not be the base you are assigned!

    • If you are unsure of how to hit a base, or feel your attack strategies are not ideal for a particular base, please check with leadership before attacking.

    • Assignments are done by email

    • War discussion is done via Google HO for leaders and elders at the start of war day
